Light for the world – Project Officer in Prague
LIGHT FOR THE WORLD supports disabled persons in developing countries. We work for visually impaired, blind and otherwise disabled persons in the poorest regions of the planet. As an internationally recognised NGO we strive towards ameliorating the quality of life of those affected and towards the implementation of human rights for persons with disabilities. But we also strive towards satisfaction for our employees and supporters: our actions make sense!
For our programme team we are looking for a Project Officer (40h)
Your new areas of responsibility:
As a project officer you take on responsibility for selected projects within country programmes, supporting and accompanying them in coordination with the programme coordinator, the respective local country office and local partners. Your areas of responsibility are the monitoring of project development, finances and contract management. You deal with submissions and the handling of institutional project funding. Furthermore, your role is that of a focal point for a selected programme topic. In interactions with project partners you represent LIGHT FOR THE WORLD. You treat possible travels to partner countries as a window of opportunity for networking purposes and for strengthening cooperation.
You hold experience in the development sector, with work experience in similar organisations and developing countries being a definite advantage. You are keen for knowledge and enjoy working in an international context. English is a working tool that you are well in command of; and you have a good knowledge of French. With your personality and experience you contribute to the team and at the same time work independently and responsibly. Your interaction with project partners is refined, bringing cultural empathy and intercultural sensitivity into the equation.
