Development Education Summer School – DESS 2012 Change Lab – Engaging Local Society in Sustainable Development

Czech Forum for Development Co-operation FoRS in co-operation with the project DEEEP organizes the Development Education Summer School - DESS 2012. The general theme of DESS 2012 is local engagement in sustainable development. DESS 2012 will take place from 24 June to 30 June 2012 in Legner Hotel Zvánovice. The Summer School is targeted on NGO participants from EU and non-EU countries working in the field of global/development education and environmental education. This international event with a tradition since 1997 is held in a different EU member state each year. DESS 2012 is based on a mixture of methods stressing participants" work in five working groups aimed at different target groups (general public, formal and non-formal education, advocacy and private sector).

An annual meeting of national NGDO platforms from EU-12 countries - Trialog Central Training 2012 - will take place from 24th to 25th April 2012 in Prague. This time the meeting is co-organized by FoRS.

A public "microconference" with a working title „Advancing Beyond 2015. EU-12 contributions to a global development framework after the MDGs" will be held on Tuesday 24th April.

On Wednesday 25th April, the participating platforms will meet and share information and experience from past activities and especially EU presidency.

Visegrad Regional Seminar on Global Development Education

 

The Visegrad Regional Seminar on Global Development Education took place in Prague on the 24th and 25th of March, 2011. Representatives of ministries, state agencies, schools, NGOs and other organizations active in the GDE field in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia gathered in Prague to discuss concepts, perspectives, methodologies and strategies of GDE together with renowned experts from non-Visegrad countries.

In this article you can find links to presentations given at the seminar and some related documents. The article does not contain reports on the parts of the seminar, which were not supported by visual aid (with the exception of the key note speech), and thus does not serve as a final presentation of the whole event.
