FoRS platform

FoRS – Czech Forum for Development Co-operation is the Czech confederation of Relief and Development NGO’s and other entities.

FoRS was founded and registered in 2002 by fifteen development NGO’s. In the beginning of 2010 FoRS was already made up of 37 member organizations and 10 observer organizations composed of non-governmental organizations, foundations, international organizations and academic institutions. All the member and observer organizations share the common aim of promoting higher relevance and effectiveness of Czech and international development cooperation and increasing the positive impact of development cooperation on people from developing and transforming countries. The main task of FoRS is to represent common interests of member organizations and to strengthen the cooperation with Czech and international governmental institutions in the field of development cooperation.

FoRS is founding member of CONCORD, the European confederation of Relief and Development NGO’s. CONCORD is made up of 27 national associations, 18 international networks and 2 associate members that represent over 1800 NGO’s, supported by millions of citizens across Europe. Through CONCORD, FoRS tries to strengthen its impact vis-à-vis the European Institutions. FoRS also engaged in several thematic work groups coordinated by CONCORD.
